Hollybank Trust

Connect Gazelles are proud to be linked to the Hollybank Trust

Hollybank Trust is a beautiful place. We do everything we can to make it so because we believe our residents and pupils deserve the best in life.

We care for, educate and enrich the lives of around 100 children, young people and adults who all have profound and complex disabilities. We make a commitment to look after them for life, either on our main site at Roe Head in Mirfield or in one of our four community homes.

For them, every day is a challenge - but also a triumph of strength and determination against adversity. Even life’s simple pleasures such as enjoying a meal, chatting with friends or taking a stroll in the countryside are not possible for many of our young people.

We try to give them their independence by encouraging them to make everyday choices. We make sure that they all have a voice, even if they are non-verbal communicators, and have a say in how their lives at Hollybank are shaped.

Every child and adult has a personalised programme of education, therapy and activities that is based around their needs and abilities and aimed at helping them thrive and reach their potential as individuals. They use innovative, assistive technology where possible to assist with life skills. We are so proud of what they achieve on a daily basis and how they grow and develop alongside their peers. We see the ability, not the disability.

Our biggest home for adults has now been registered as a care home with nursing, which enables those with a high medical need and degenerative conditions to continue living with their friends in a familiar environment where they are happy, but receive the necessary medical care.

We now offer respite rooms for children and families who are not currently cared for by Hollybank and also are proud to have launched our "Little Pips" family support service for families of children from 0-5 years old with additional needs.

Our fundraising team raises money for the fun activities, trips and additional treats which we consider gives our residents and pupils “quality of life… for life”.

We are so grateful to all our supporters, especially to the kind-hearted volunteers who give up their valuable time to support us. It is this generosity which has enabled us to continue to provide a happy home for our special residents and pupils and to keep Hollybank Trust a beautiful place to live.
Thank you.
